Anti-tank basics: vehicle weak spots
Every vehicle has the same four weak spots: engine, tracks or wheels, ammo rack and turret. Hit them in order: first a HEAT rocket into the engine or tracks to stop the vehicle, then switch to a Tandem for the ammo rack or turret to finish it.
- 11st hit: HEAT rocketAim for the engine or tracks / wheels. It stops the vehicle moving.
- 22nd hit: switch to TandemAim for the ammo rack or turret to finish it.
No Tandem in your kit (most LATs)? Keep using HEAT: two HEAT rockets can still take out an IFV's ammo rack.
* IFVs only have an ammo rack if they carry a TOW launcher, or if their sister model does. Example: the M7A3 Bradley has no TOW, but its sister M2A3 does, so both have one.
By vehicle
Section titled “By vehicle”Hit the engine. It has the biggest impact.
Engine, tracks or wheels first (use your HEAT rocket if you have one). Then the turret, or the ammo rack if it has one (use a Tandem). Even a LAT can take out an IFV’s ammo rack in two shots.
Engine or tracks first (HEAT if you have it). Then the ammo rack, which needs a HAT. Unlike on IFVs, a tank’s turret is not a weak spot.
