Stamina management

Without stamina you can’t shoot straight or reach cover. Watch the bar at the bottom of your screen and don’t run it dry.

Peeking an enemy
100%
Full bar. Your aim needs it.
Unsafe area, no known contact
80%
80 % or more
Safe area
50%
50 % or less is fine
Rollout
0%
Sprint it all. Nobody is shooting yet.

Timed runs over 100–500 m show that the three methods take almost exactly the same time:

27 s
per 100 m: full sprint to 0 %
25 s
per 100 m: sprint to 50 %, walk back up
25–26 s
per 100 m: sprint to 75–80 %, walk back up
Distance Full sprint (0 %) Down to 50 % Down to 75–80 %
100 m 0:20 0:24 0:25
200 m 0:48 0:49 0:51
300 m 1:15 1:15 1:16
400 m 1:42 1:41 1:43
500 m 2:10 2:08 2:09

Full sprint only wins over the first ~70 m. After that you arrive at the same time, but with an empty bar.

Deep water drains stamina just from walking, and vaulting drains it too. If your run ends in several vaults in a row or goes through deep water, you’ll hit 0 % anyway, so sprinting is free. Recover as soon as it’s safe.
